About

The Samaritan House Rescue & Shelter provides emergency overnight housing facilities to homeless men, including accessibility to bathroom and shower facilities. CLICK HERE to print a detailed informational brochure.

Location:  Open Door Mission Samaritan House Rescue Shelter, 210 West Main Street, Rochester, New York 14608
Center Hours Open to the Public:     Monday thru Friday, 8–10am & 1-7:30pm, Saturday & Sunday, 8am-10am & 4pm-7:30pm
Emergency Shelter Assistance:   4:00pm Bed Sign-up (Must come in person to retain a bed)
Evening Chapel Services:   8:00pm Monday thru Sunday
Weekly Bible Study:    5:30pm Tuesday & Thursday
Morning Chapel Services:   11:00am every Sunday

 

Community Meal Program:  The Mission feeds the homeless as well as low-income men, women and children of the Rochester community. This community meal which is served nightly at 6:45pm is free of charge to visitors and clients. A thirty minute, gospel based, non-denominational chapel service is presented after each hot meal. Attendance is optional.

Hours:  The doors open at 1:00pm M-F followed by a coffee hour (coffee hour on Thursdays and Sundays at 5:45 - 6:30pm.) The doors open ar 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Clothing Distribution (Women & Children):  This program provides clothing for women and children in need. Clothing is received in the form of donations from the community and distributed free of charge.

Hours:  This program is available every Tuesday-Friday by appointment only. The program operates from 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00-4:00pm

Children under the age of 18 living with guardian

Eligibility:  Acceptance into the program is based on a multi-interview process with the Program Director and the Resident Chaplain.
