Healthy Baby Network Appoints New Executive Director
Posted on February 25, 2019 by Healthy Baby Network
Sherita brings a long history of program development, community building, advocacy for Maternal Child Health, improved health and birth outcomes, and efforts to eliminate racial health disparities. She has been the face of the agency for many years, and is known in our community as the, “Baby Lady”.
The Healthy Baby Network board and staff are looking forward to all this year will bring and the future of the agency. Our 2019 theme is, “Breaking Barriers to Birth Equity.” We are focused on strategies to create birth equity for all babies, their parents, and our community. We are also counting on our parents, community and agency partners, donors, and each of you to work with us. Please continue supporting and attending our events to investigate challenges and gaps women and families experience, and to craft and identify innovative responses.
Our 2019 events are, Women’s Health Day (May 15), Bear with Me: Stories of Birth and Pregnancy (June 13), Countdown to Kindergarten 2024 (August 22), and the Black Birth Summit (October 30).
Let’s both celebrate our journey, and make 2019 our most impactful year yet for healthy babies!
